Merry Christmas, here's some shouty music
Like Aaliyah said, it's been a long time. I shouldn't have left you.
It miiiiiight be worth at least some of that wait though, as I'm pleased to announce we have a new record coming out very soon. The three-track 'Jail' EP will be out in mid-January, with copies available at our single launch at The Packhorse, Leeds on Saturday 15th January.
In the meantime, you can have a sneak preview of two of the tracks on our Myspace page (myspace.com/doublemuscle) or Bandcamp (doublemuscle.bandcamp.com).
In the new year we'll be announcing full details of artwork, new gigs and how fat we've become. In the meantime, have a lovely Christmas and that.

Thug Passion
Hey you guyz. We played a few gigs in the last couple of weeks and met some very lovely people. Big shouts to Lebanons/Holy Smokes Records/Bilge Pump/Hold Your Horse Is/Crooked Mountain Crooked Sea/Solus Locus/Ice, Sea, Dead People/Ian @ Crash Records and many more which I've probably forgotten.
Last weekend we were in the studio. On the warmest weekend of the year so far. Way to go Team Muscle. We did, however, manage to record three new songs with the delightful Jonny of Magnapinna. We'll be mixing these over the next couple of weeks and eventually putting them out on some form of official release in the early part of summer.
Some records I'm enjoying at the moment:
Method Man, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah - Wu Massacre
Male Bonding - Nothing Hurts
Max Tannone - Mos Dub
Pantha Du Prince - Black Noise
Ta ra for now.

Wok U Like
Two new Leeds shows, lets get wet:
SATURDAY 3 APRIL - CRASH RECORDS BASEMENT, LEEDS
w/ Bilge Pump & Lebanons
In association with the mighty Holy Smokes Records from that London, this is going to be a bit special. Bonafide Leeds institution Bilge Pump will be playing at the new performance space in the basement of Crash Records (the bit where the hip hop and dance records used to be). Shit kicks off at about 2pm and Holy Smokes will also be producing a compilation CD for the occasion, featuring ourselves and many other very loud bands. Yum yum yum. Facebook event here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=384923860438&ref=mf
FRIDAY 9 APRIL - COCKPIT, LEEDS
w/ Ice, Sea, Dead People
This lot are making a whole load of noise right now. Check 'em out here: www.myspace.com/iceseadeadpeople. They remind me a bit of a band called Ikara Colt, who were lumped in with the 'Scene With No Name' thing that went on around 2002. I realise how old this makes me look. But yeah, its definitely a good thing.
This is one of them ticket jobbies so come and see one of us or message us on www.myspace.com/doublemuscle if you'd like one. They'll be five pounds, but you do get entry to the Cockpit Friday clubnight afterwards as well. I think they play Paramore there or something.
Lovely.

Some more shows
Today I'm excited for two reasons.
1. R Kelly just announced his first UK tour in 8 years.
and
2. We've got a couple of new gigs lined up:
25 March - Cardigan Arms, Leeds w/The Munroe Effect
28 March - Royal Park Cellars, Leeds w/Hold Your Horse Is & Crooked Mountain, Crooked Sea
The second of these dates is part of the HYHI/CMCS joint tour. Those dates in full:
25th March - Mothers Ruin, BRISTOL.
26th March - Buffalo Bar, CARDIFF.
27th March - West End Centre, ALDERSHOT.
28th March - Royal Park Cellars, LEEDS.
29th March - Retro Bar, MANCHESTER.
30th March - The Central, NOTTINGHAM.
31st March - The Windmill, LONDON. (Brixton)
1st April - The Square, HARLOW.
2nd April - Chichester Inn, CHICHESTER.
3rd April - Freebutt, BRIGHTON.
Crooked Mountain...are a stunningly good band and good friends of ours, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Hold Your Horse Is. They're loud as fuck and tipped for big things this year by lots of people who tend to know about this kind of thing. More details to follow when I can be arsed.
